The Manager of Human Resources is primarily responsible for recruiting of hourly and salary positions and oversees payroll and benefits.

Your Role as L2's Manager of Human Resources:

  1. Responsible for delivery, productivity, innovation, and customer solutions.
  2. Motivate and empower staff, supervisors, and external suppliers to achieve performance goals. Includes training, career support, recruitment, and performance management.
  3. Exert good judgement in their prioritization and allocation of resources.
  4. Understands how their area “fits” into the bigger picture and communicates within the organization to enhance effectiveness.
  5. Consistently demonstrate and teach others L2 Brands’ Core Values.

Your Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment
    • Develops staffing strategies, implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization.
  2. Oversee Payroll and Benefit Administration
    • Direct the administration of insurance, retirement, and other benefits programs; evaluate and develop recommendations for improvements to employer-sponsored benefit programs.
  3. 401(k) Plan Administration
    • Coordinate annual 401(k) Plan audit and submit required documentation.
  4. Health & Safety
    • Chair the Safety Committee
    • Ensure L2’s facility complies with OSHA standards to include identifying safety, health, and environmental risks
  5. Workers’ Compensation
    • Timely report work-related injuries/illnesses and updates to L2’s workers’ compensation insurance carrier, and to OSHA when required.
  6. Review employee suggestions monthly and draft a response to select members of the executive management team, communicate final responses to all employees by posting next to suggestion boxes, in Paylocity’s Company tile, and through email.
  7. Coordinate submission of Employee of the Month nominations to members of the executive management team for selection, and schedule monthly presentations with employees selected.
  8. Event planning – coordinate company events throughout the year with the Event Committee.
  9. Coordinate requests for facility tours from local schools.
  10. Coordinate wellness programs tapping into L2’s insurance carrier’s wellness programs offered and other community resources.
  11. Update the Employee Handbook as policy changes occur, post in Paylocity, and communicate updates to employees.
  12. Plan department farewell parties for employees retiring.
  13. File annual EEO-1 Component 1 report.
  14. Provide necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the organization.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.

Your Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or 5 to 8 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification: SHRM-CP certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of moving into the position strongly preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of and experience with Human Resource Information Systems
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
