About the Role: 2nd Shift Embroidery Supervisor
As our 2nd Shift Embroidery Supervisor, you’ll oversee the daily operations of the embroidery department, leading a team of embroidery operators, laser bed, and Proel laser operators. You’ll play a key role in maintaining production quality, safety, and efficiency — all while fostering a supportive, high-performance work environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Supervise embroidery operators, laser bed, and Proel laser operators on 2nd shift
- Monitor and adjust workflow to meet production goals and deadlines
- Participate in production planning and cross-functional improvement committees (e.g., Safety, Quality Control)
- Coach and develop team leaders and operators across embroidery and laser functions
- Serve as a communication bridge across shifts, shipping, and management
- Perform routine quality checks and ensure adherence to safety standards
- Resolve production and personnel issues in real time
- Maintain accurate shift reports and performance records
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using LEAN manufacturing principles
- Help cover team leader absences and support shift transitions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1–3 years of related experience and/or 1+ year as a lead operator in apparel manufacturing
- Experience with Barudan 15-Head and Tajima Embroidery Machines
- Working knowledge of embroidery processes, tools, and equipment
- Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing and productivity metrics
- Strong leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to track and enforce company policies and administer disciplinary measures
- Clear understanding of safety, quality, and workflow procedures
HOURS AND SCHEDULE
- Full-time salary role
- 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
- Extended hours, Fridays, and occasional weekends as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role is based in a production environment, requiring regular use of embroidery machinery and tools, along with occasional computer work. You’ll need to:
- Stand for up to 10 hours per shift
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
- Have strong visual and auditory acuity (close/distance vision, color perception, depth, and focus)
